====== The climate manager ====== The //Climate manager// window, shown below, is activated via the '//Resources->Climates->Climate manager...//' menu option.

===== Climate-specific buttons ===== ==== Load ==== The '//Load//' button opens up a file dialog, with which you may select the climate file to load. Climates should be placed in the following directory or in subdirectories thereof: ^ WinXP | C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\L3DT\Resources\[version]\Climates\ | ^ Vista | C:\Users\[username]\L3DT\Resources\[version]\Climates\ | === Automatic loading of climates === On start-up, L3DT will automatically load any climate files contained within the climate resources directory given above. === Supported formats === The supported climate file formats are old '.cli' and the new '.cli.xml' format. However, the '.cli' format is treated as import-only, and any such '.cli' loaded here will be immediately re-saved as '.cli.xml'. ==== Create ==== The '//Create//' button, which appears when you have selected the '<< new climate >>' option in the climate list, will create an empty climate and open the [[l3dt:userguide:climates:cliedit|climate editor]] dialog box to begin editing. Double clicking on the '<< new climate >>' list item has the same effect as clicking on the '//Create//' button. ==== Copy ==== The '//Copy//' button, which appears when you have selected a climate in the list, creates a clone of the currently selected climate and open the [[l3dt:userguide:climates:cliedit|climate editor]] dialog box to begin editing. ==== Edit ==== The '//Edit//' button opens up the [[l3dt:userguide:climates:cliedit|climate editor]] window. Double-clicking on a climate in the list has the same effect as clicking on the '//Edit//' button. ==== Remove ==== The '//Remove//' button deletes the selected climate from the climate list. ===== Other buttons ===== ==== OK ==== Clicking on the '//OK//' button will apply all changes to L3DT's master climate list, save all climate files, and save the 'climates.ini.xml' index file. ==== Cancel ==== Clicking '//Cancel//' will undo any changes you've made, unless you have used the '//Calc AM//' button (see next). ===== Calculate & Go ===== The climate manager provides a shortcut interface for re-calculating climate dependent maps using the '//Calculate//' droplist and the '//Go//' button (shown below). This can be useful when editing climates, as it allows you to assess the impact of your changes without closing the climate manager.

When you select one of the calculations and click '//Go//', L3DT will apply all changes you've made to the climates before running the selected calculation. This means that after using this feature, the '//Cancel//' button can no-longer undo any prior changes you've made.
