Importing the texture map

If you would like to import your terrain's texture image from an external source (e.g. another program, satellite imagery, etc.), you can do this using the 'File→Import→Texture map' menu option. This will open a standard Windows file-open window, in which you may choose the texture image to be loaded. As of the time of writing 1), the following file formats are supported here:

  • MMF (L3DT mosaic map, for importing tiled texture maps).
  • BMP (Bitmap image)
  • JPG (JPEG image)
  • PNG (Portable network graphic)
  • TGA (TrueVision Targa image)
  • DDS (DirectDraw surface)
  • PCX (PC Paintbrush Exchange image)
