There's a lot of data stored in the design map, so much so that I find it hard to represent in one single display scheme. Thus L3DT allows you to create or customise display schemes for the design map to present the data layers you want to see (eg erosion, cliffs, etc). You can select and / or edit design map schemes using the dialog found at 'View->Display effects->Design map schemes...'.

Contour lines

You can enable / disable the contour lines by selecting the 'View->Display effects->Show heightfield contour lines' option in the menu.

I will in future include the option to modify the intervals and colours of contour lines, but they are hard-coded at the moment. At the time of writing I do not recall what intervals the contour colours represent, but you can always find out the altitude by double-clicking on the heightfield.

Several water map display options are available to aid the user in visualising water map data (e.g. salinity, water table). The following water map display options are available in the 'View->Display effects' menu:

	* Show heightfield in water map
	* Show water table in water map
	* Show salinity in water map
