Description When flying around on large mosaic maps, L3DTVi2 will eventually eat-up all the RAM. Root cause I haven't looked into it yet, but I suspect L3DTVi2 does not unload its tile cache properly. First observed 2nd of April, 2006 (probably happened from first release, though). Bug status Still active. No ETA on a fix just yet. Workaround None.

Description L3DTVi2 terminates on start-up, returning a 'context not created' error. Root cause This is an OpenGL initialisation failure that occurs with new ATI cards that support OpenGL 2.0. First observed Mid-2005. Bug status Squished. This bug was fixed in the L3DTVi2 version that accompanied L3DT 2.3a. If you find otherwise, please send me an abusive e-mail. Workaround None.

Description See title, or image below. Root cause The vertical scaling in the mosaic heightfield files are different, which is not handled well by L3DTVi2. First observed L3DT 2.1, re-emerged with 2.3PR. Bug status Squished. This bug was fixed in L3DT 2.3. If you find otherwise, please send me an abusive e-mail. Workaround Load the map in L3DT and select the 'Options→Unify mosaic scales' menu option.

Description See title, or image below. Root cause The TerrainRenderer used for the water map is not managing mosaic tiles correctly. First observed 25th of May, 2005, when support for mosaic heightfields was reintroduced. Bug status Still active. Probably due for fix in late 2006. Workaround None.

Description An exception is raised when the user moves the camera position off the map. This effectively locks the program, although it does still respond to some commands. Root cause Unsafe coordinate mapping in L3DTVi2. First observed 25th of May, 2005, when support for mosaic heightfields was reintroduced. Bug status Still active. We need a Delphi programmer again! Workaround Don't move the camera off the map.

L3DTVi2 does not check what your hardware is capable of rendering, so with L3DT's large maps it is very easy to overwhelm your system. This generally results in very slow rendering (<1fps), and an unresponsive user interface. The following tips may help prevent this:
