Hi Everyone,

Once again we've had a strong response to this month's image competition, the theme of which was "another planet". A big thankyou goes to Forboding Angel, Tailchaser and DeathTwister for their efforts.

If you'd like to vote on the winner, please following this link to the entries gallery, and then vote via the poll above. The poll closes in five days time (Aug 10).

Cheerio,
Aaron.

Glass dreams and maybe Silent Night are the only 2 maps that meet the subject of the compensation. the others look like they are set on earth.

I voted for Glass Dreams as its just the sort of imagination I was hoping to see out of this subject. The pink / purple rock with the pink/purple water, with cracks etc on the very shallow pond/river/lake/sea makes it looks really nice with also a nice red sky contrast :D

really good work Forboding Angel!

Thanks Rhino! I really appreciate that :-)

My vote will have to be for Flotilla. I kinda agree that it does not meet the requirements, however, it is a damn fine work of art and I think it deserves due recognition (it also made it was the wallpaper for my computer at work :)).

Silent Night is beautiful. I saw that and said "Oh shit, I just lost." lol Nice work Tailchaser!

I really thought all the entries were excellent. I ended up voting for the one I thought looked "most" like the theme and that was Glass Dreams. Any of the entries could easily be "another planet" but the coloring in Glass Dreams made it unmistakably "another planet".

Yep. I've sent him an e-mail, but I'm under the impression that he's a bit busy at this time. In any case, we've nearly run out of August, so I think we'll go straight to the September competition. If I haven't heard back from FA by the 1st of next month, I'll pick a theme myself (suggestions anyone?)

Cheerio,
Aaron.
