Windows 2000 support discontinued, maybe.

Important stuff.

Windows 2000 support discontinued, maybe.

Hi All,

I have inadvertently broken support for Windows 2000 in L3DT release 2.7 by the addition of Microsoft's 'SysLink' controls in wizards (see here for pic). SysLinks were introduced with Windows XP and are therefore not supported by Windows 2000. Consequently, L3DT v2.7's wizards cannot be opened in Windows 2000.

If there is sufficient interest from users, I am prepared to build a special Win2K-compatible version of L3DT 2.7. If you use Win2K and would like said Win2K-compatible version, please reply to this forum thread.

Best regards,
Aaron.

Hi Guys,

I'm working now on a Win2K-friendly replacement for the WinXP-and-later 'SysLink' control, and if all goes well it should be included in the next developmental build of L3DT, meaning Win2K support will be restored. I'll post back here when it's ready for testing.

Best regards,
Aaron.

Update: The fix seems to work just fine. However, there are some 20 dialog boxes that use the SysLink control in L3DT, and it's not currently a one-for-one code swap to change it over to my new control, so this may take a few more days.

Hi Guys,

I've resurrected support for Windows 2000 in the latest developmental build of L3DT, which is available from the downloads page as v2.7 build 12. Please let me know if you find any problems.

Best regards,
Aaron.
