Dev build 2.4.0.18

Important stuff.

Postby Aaron » Thu Jul 27, 2006 2:24 am

Hi Mauro,

Thank-you for the bug report, I really appreciate your stress-testing of the new build.

When I added the Calculation Queue wizard pane I had to change the way some settings were stored and applied. Apparently I forgot to check the case when you generate the design map from the heightfield. I will fix this shortly.

Regards,
Aaron.

Hi Mauro,

I've uploaded a new dev-build (2.4.0.20, both standard and pro), which fixes the last bug you reported, and also prevents the 'No design map algorithm has been identified' error condition occurring (as you found earlier).

No news yet on the CPU throttle problem, though.

Cheers,
Aaron.

Hi Aaron.

It seems all ok.

Only one thing. I don't know if it's my mistake, but each time that i create a new project or import from heightfield, the default HF format is Terragen. I tried to set HFF as default in Preferences, but each time it reverts to Terragen.

Cheers.

Hi Mauro,

Hmmm...this sounds odd. Can you send me your 'formats.ini.xml' file from the settings folder?

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Cheers,
Aaron.

Hi Mauro,

Thanks for the file. It all looked in order, so I can't explain why you're getting TER files when you shouldn't.

If you create a whole new project, generate the heightfield, and save the project, does it save the heightfield as HFF?

Cheers,
Aaron.

Hi Aaron.

I tried to generate a landscape from scratch and it seems OK.

This change of file format, maybe, occours when i import an heightfield or design map. I suppose that the format of heightfield (used in project witch i've imported it) changes to the same as imported file format (in my case Terragen). Right?

Cheers.

Hi Aaron.

Sob! L3DTVi2 into v2.4.0.22 don't work.

It starts, my hard disk flash for a while and finally appear a black silhouette of the heightfield then...it freeze. The last way to shutdown it is by Task Manager.

Cheers.

Hi Mauro,

That's wierd. I haven't touched L3DTVi2 since last year. Can you test L3DTVi2 by creating a new (small) project in L3DT, checking the correct formats (HFF, unsigned short integers), saving it in a new directory, then loading it in L3DTVi2?

Cheers,
Aaron.

Ok Aaron.
The error has been mine. After a restart of my PC all works fine.

Sorry  .

Cheers.

No worries Mauro, these things happen (they tend to happen to L3DTVi2 quite a lot!)

Cheers,
Aaron.
