is it possible to have l3dt automatically configure itself for multiple users, don't use my admin account for anything, save admin stuff obviously, and sense it is possible to activate admin permissions for installs, I don't "go over there much" could u have l3dt copy user resources to all users or at least allow for that choice, at present I have to manually copy the user files over from admin

Hi McBeth,

Thanks for the request. It took me a few hours longer than it should have, but I've now modified L3DT to copy all required resources and settings when a user starts a new version of L3DT for the first time. The default read-only settings and resources are kept in the installation directory (in the 'Program Files') folder, and are copied into the user's profile directory ('C:\Users\[username]\L3DT\resources\[version]\', on Vista / Win7). The uninstaller will nuke the resources and settings at both locations (program files and the uninstalling user's profile)*, but will not delete settings and resources stored in other users' profiles.

I'll let you know when the new installer is available for download.

Best regards,
Aaron.

* A word of warning: Although L3DT does now have a resources folder under the installation path within the 'Program files' directory, users must not, under any circumstances store their own custom climates or other resources in this folder. Any files stored under the 'Resources (default)' folder in the installation directory will be deleted without warning when L3DT is uninstalled, regardless of whether they are user-generated or not. As with the previous release, custom resources must be stored under the resources folder in your profile home directory (e.g. 'C:\Users\[username]\L3DT\Resources\[version]\'). If you have trouble finding the L3DT resources, there is a shortcut to the correct folder in the start menu.

Hi McBeth,

I've updated the installer to behave as requested for L3DT v2.9 beta 2, which is on the Professional downloads page now*. Please let me know if you find any problems with it.

Best regards,
Aaron.

* Standard and Torque versions coming soon.

Hi McBeth,

Sure, I've added it to the dev plan for v3.0. Thanks for the suggestion.

Best regards,
Aaron.
