A little feedback...

Aaron- after completing the L3DT terrain, the heightmap prev definately helped matters. OK, you know that :) , but I was able to put a figure on it. I generated nearly 30 projects. We can assume that I checked the heightmap preview once for each save. The time difference between a prev and full gen (assuming no roughness or erosion) was 45 secs. Therefore the time saving = at the very least, 20 mins. Every little helps :)

I can also give you some figures regarding how much time you might save when you introduce the 3D prev.
Total Time taken for terrain: 4 hrs 40 mins.
Time spent generating full res heightmap for export for 3D viewing: 1 hr, 30 mins.

I'd say that a ME-DEM terrain would be at the high end of the range: having to go check accuracy, but I also needed to check for other stuff too, terrain shape, erosion, etc, so it's all good.

Cheers,
