Any and all chit-chat regarding L3DT.

Curiouser and curiouser

Postby whtemple1959 » Mon Nov 12, 2012 3:13 pm

Hello again,

As I stated in my first post I am self teaching myself about how to build a game. I now come to glean insight into some of the gallery posts.

My first question concerns Aaron's Alpine series. Are the tanks using a pathfinder script to travel or are they static images?
Second, Demi hao did you creat your people for your screenshots?
Finally for DeathTwister how did you create such wonderful ships for your flotilla?

I look forward to getting advice from you artists.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,

The alpine set of images were taken from the game TA Spring (using an L3DT-generated map), and indeed the game does use pathfinding algorithms to move the tanks around.

DeathTwister passed away last year.

Best regards,
Aaron.

Aaron,

Thank you for the information concerning DeathTwister. I felt a shudder of sadness and I did not even know him.

As my journey continues I am wondering if it is possible to create a realistic globe using NASA data.
Would you have any insights into this goal and the use of L3DT?

Thanks,
Bill
