Mosaic png 16bit tiles

Postby thrif_ash » Fri Sep 14, 2012 5:10 pm

Hello just bought the professional version and so far I'm enjoying it. I'm currently having an issue and I haven't been able to find a solution in the documentation or forums.

When I create a mosiac png 16bit the files are coming out as 8bit.

My version information is:
Version: 12.09 Pro dev build 0
Build date: 13-Sept-2012

My process is:
1. I created a 1024x1024 map and tile it for 512x512.

Creating the map

2. I use the extension Grow tile size by one and choose PNG 16-bit.
3.png
File format information
3.png (38.26 KiB) Viewed 12537 times

3. I right click on one of the files and check the properties and the Bit depth is set to 8 bits.

If I do the same thing but with a full map the png file is 16-bits.

Jason

Hi Jason,

It turned out to be a dumb coding mistake, and was easily fixed. Please download the updated plugin from here:

http://www.bundysoft.com/L3DT/downloads/plugins/bin/L3DTio_FI-bin.zip

To use it, extract the plugin from the zip file, and copy it over the existing file at:

C:\Program files (x86)\Bundysoft\L3DT [version]\Extensions\
(for 64-bit Windows)

or

C:\Program files\Bundysoft\L3DT [version]\Extensions\
(for 32-bit Windows)

Please let me know if you find any other problems, and thank you again for the bug report.

Best regards,
Aaron.

Hi Aaron,

It looks like there's another issue. My last test i simply split a map quickly and checked the bits before heading out. I didn't actually try loading the file.

All the 16bit PNG's are coming out black and so all my terrain is flat. Looks like this is affecting the full map exports as well as the mosaic ones. If you would like any additional information please let me know.

Hi Jason,

Oops, sorry. I accidentally enabled an old scaling mode when cleaning up some code. The fixed plugin is available from the same link as above. Please let me know if problems persist.

Best regards,
Aaron.
