can they be seen as an overlay without be baked into the texture, cant seem to find how.

Hi McBeth,

You can use the 'Options->Terrain->Set texture' menu option in Sapphire to select the different map layers as the terrain drape image. Is that OK?

no, I mean can I see the terrain in sapphire with color and light-map\spec-maps without having to bake them into the colour texture...like a multi-texture layer...like how the detail map can be imposed on the colour texture.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. This was partly implemented in Sapphire, but I seemed to have stopped when I got to a tricky part. I'll have a look at what still needs to be done to get it working.
