Help on Texture Map

Postby psvialli » Tue Sep 30, 2014 12:19 pm

When I zoom into my image , the sand on the top right , (the lightest bits) they have a tint of green which means when I import this into my Game the sand at distance looks very green.

How can i change this ? i have looked at climate & materials but cannot seem to work out how to change them

Hope you can help ?

Hi psvialli,

There are a couple of ways to do this, but I think the simplest is to change the colour balance of the material using the material editor. To find out which material to edit, first view the attributes map, and double-click on the affected area. Make note of the climate and land type in the message box that pops up. Then, open the climate manager, and edit the relevant climate. In the climate editor, edit the relevant land type. On the 'appearance' tab of the land type editor, press the 'edit' button to open the material editor. In the material editor, check the 'enable colour balancing' checkbox, and set the green channel to something smaller than 1. Try 0.9 for starters. If the texture is still too green, try a lower value. If it ends up too red, try a higher value for green.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,
Aaron.

Thanks

I change it to 0.9 and it looks red already , so not sure what to do next :)

Can I use 0.98 or will that not work ?

Thanks

Hi Still having issue with this , it is to red @ 0.95 and if I set it up to 0.96 it is still to green .

Is there another way to change this ?

Hi psvialli,

No, I don't think there's another way to change the colour balance without other unpleasant side-effects.

How about 0.955?

Is it different bands in the sand strata that are too red or too green, or is it the same bands? If different bands, you could perhaps reduce the intensity of the sand strata effect using the material editor.

Best regards,
Aaron.
