Importing .DEM via Terragen to L3DT...removing Sea...

Hi, we just bought the pro version and I think this is a wonderful tool!

I need this software for generating large amounts of land...(some of the coast of Norway) and it need to be quite accurate, because they are for a ship simulator and they need to recongnise the coastal lines and mountains..
I have .DEM data 25x25meters over the whole area!

Now to my question, the .DEM data is exported from Global mapper to a .ter(terragen file) and I import this .TER file in L3DTpro. But the .DEM files doesn not contain data for what is under the sea, and therefor all sea is at 0 m and not whith depth at all.... What can I do to either remove the 0m land or to make it 10 meters deeper, the main thing is to have the coast intact...

Hi Weben,

You can use the operations->heightfield->clip heightfield menu option, which incidentally was written for exactly this purpose.

Best regards,
Aaron.

I now have trouble with the jagged line against the sea, because of the resolution is to low(large area map), is there any good way to reduce these jagged shores without going down on the map size?

Thaks for replying on advance!

Hi Weben,

Sorry, I don't think there's a way to do that just yet. Could you post a few screenshots of the problem?

Cheers,
Aaron.
