Piecing together a high res sat image

Postby Sabergaming » Sun May 17, 2015 2:40 pm

hey i have another question, im now using a 30km x 30km map and want to use its real life sat image but with high resolution. when i go onto google maps or bing maps and use the snipping tool for the whole island it comes out very low textured. i was told a good way is to zoom in until it goes highly textured and use the snipping tool to make several pictures of the new high res texture map and piece it together. is there a easy way or a program to do this so it take it in perfect tiles to jigsaw together or do i have to judge the size of snip every time i am snipping? if this question is confusing let me know and i will try and reword it better.

Hi Sabergaming,

I'm very sorry for my slow reply. As far as I 'm aware, L3DT doesn't have a nice way to import multimple image tiles as a single map (it does for heightmaps, but not images), so I guess you'll have to do the combining in Photoshop or another image editor. I'm sorry I can't be of more help here.

Best regards,
Aaron.
