hi,
I made a heightmap in worldmachine and want to use the noise function in L3DT for some randomness on hill slopes.

this is a great program for editing heightmaps but the noise function leaves a 'circular rim mark' from the brush.

any tips how to add randomness to perfectly graded slopes on a mountain?

thanx,
jim.

Hi Jim,

Oops, sorry about the sharp brush edge. I've modified the perlin brush to smoothly fade to zero at the edge. The update is available in the latest developmental build of L3DT Pro (v16.07 build 1, 64-bit), which is on the Pro downloads page now (please consult trial/sales receipt e-mail for link). If you're using the free 'Standard' edition, or the 32-bit version of L3DT Pro, please let me know and I'll churn out an appropriate installer for that version.

Kind regards,
Aaron.

hi Aaron,

sorted, nice one.

however, I have noticed that when using noise, I press the LMB for say 1 sec, but every 5/6 presses the function sticks....behaves like the LMB is held down, so I have to keep using ctrl+z to undo.

many thanx,
jim.
