setting number of tiles to export?

Postby isnjh » Mon Jul 11, 2016 7:25 pm

I want to export my very large detailed height map as a seamless tiled height map, I want to export my terrain as a 4 tile by 4 tile.

but when I go to export its only exporting the large export as just 2 x 2 how can I adjust how many tiles are generated?

and make sure that those exported tiles of the height map will be seamless.

basically I want to break my large hightmap that is a real world terrain hightmap up into 4 tile by 4 tile terrain segments.

each terrain tile would be 2048 X 2048 res

Hi Isnjh,

Please try the 'File->Export->Export overlapped tiles' menu item. The user guide is here:

http://www.bundysoft.com/docs/doku.php? ... pped_tiles

The number of tiles is calculated from dividing the map size by the tile size, so you change the number of tiles by changing the tile size.

Please let me know if you find any problems.

Best regards.
Aaron.

Hi isnjh,

Sorry for the delay. A few questions:
  • Is this visible in the raw triangle geometry? (i.e. with all textures and lighting turned off)
  • Is the offset uniform in size across all tile edges, or does it vary with position or height?
  • What file format are you using for the tiles?

Best regards,
Aaron.
