Exporting mosaic using .raw causes an error

Postby Falagard » Tue Jun 05, 2007 5:50 am

I have L3DT Pro 2.5 and am attempting to export a 1024x1024 heightfield into 512x512 mosaic maps. When I go to export them, I get an error, but only if I choose the .raw file format. I've attempted it with .png and .hff and both have succeeded.

I believe this happens with any map that I created, not just this one.

What I am attempting is as follows:

1. The maps have all been calculated properly, and split into mosaic maps when generated (heightmap, normals, textures, etc. all use mosaics at 512x512).
2. Switch the active map to Heightfield.
3. Click File->Export->Active Map
4. Use the option to split into Mosaic Map and specify "Heightmap.mmf" as the filename.
5. Change the file format to .raw. The options for the raw format are all left at default.

When I click "OK" to start the export I get the following:

CL3DTio_RAW_HF::SaveTileFile error
- cannot open file for writing

CExtDLL::SaveTileFile error
- call to DLL function 'SaveTileFile' failed

CMosaicMap::SaveSubMap error
- call to format-specific SaveSubMap failed

CL3DTio_RAW_HF::SaveTileFile error
- cannot open file for writing

CExtDLL::SaveTileFile error
- call to DLL function 'SaveTileFile' failed

CMosaicMap::SaveSubMap error
- call to format-specific SaveSubMap failed

CL3DTio_RAW_HF::SaveTileFile error
- cannot open file for writing

CExtDLL::SaveTileFile error
- call to DLL function 'SaveTileFile' failed

CMosaicMap::SaveSubMap error
- call to format-specific SaveSubMap failed

CMosaicMap::SaveMosaic error
- SaveSubMap failed, aborting mosaic save

CL3DTio_RAW_HF::SaveTileFile error
- cannot open file for writing

CExtDLL::SaveTileFile error
- call to DLL function 'SaveTileFile' failed

CMosaicMap::SaveSubMap error
- call to format-specific SaveSubMap failed

CMosaicMap::SaveMosaic error
- SaveSubMap failed, aborting mosaic save

If I change the file format to HFF it works fine (however I need it as .raw).

Any help is appreciated. I've tried out the latest build dated June 2 and titled 2.5a but that hasn't fixed the problem.

Thanks,

Clay

Hi Clay,

Thanks for the bug report. I've found the fault in the RAW plugin and I'll include the fix with L3DT release 2.5a on Friday.

Best regards,
Aaron.
