Would it be possible to generate a set of lightmaps, based on a number of iterations of a moving light source (sun), either through the upcoming SDK or natively supported?

Basically the feature would allow the user to calculate the sun's path rather than single position and determine how many steps to calculate (6:30a, 7:00a, ...). The batch would run and the user would have an entire day-night cycle.

I know this feature may be very specialized but I figured I would ask it sooner rather than later. If possible through the SDK we'd be happy to code it as a plugin.

Probably more reasonable to be able to batch an array of the relevant parameters to the lightmap generator portion and have it just do one after the other using the user provided list.

It looks like batch light-mapping won't make (or hasn't made?) it into "the next beta-release" as previously advertised. I'll try to pop it into v2.4a.
