Ridged Multi-fractal Terrain

Hi, would it be possible to add this ridged effect to L3DT - preferably as a new type of map generator like Perlin2.

Here is a link to what I mean:

This feature is also present in Blender 2.56's ANT landscape add-on. There's a tutorial that illustrates the ridge setting here:
http://www.blendercookie.com/2011/03/01/tip-using-the-ant-landscape-add-on/ ( from around the 3:55 mark )

I really like this effect but I've not been able to recreate it using ZeoGraph (I don't think I fully understand it), I think the underlying noise generation needs to be altered to grow rapidly towards these peaks... or something :)

I hope you agree this is a pleasant looking effect and agree to add it!

Regards
David

Hi David,

I've included a ridged mutli-fractal heightfield generator filter for ZeoGraph in the latest build of L3DT Pro (v2.9 build 13). Please let me know if you find any problems with it.

Best regards,
Aaron.

Thanks!

I'll test it as soon as you've processed the license renewal I just purchased

For feature turn-around speed it's money well spent, no doubt.

Thanks very much, this is great.

Definitely great for making more fantasy type terrains with imposing crags!

I got a similar effect making design maps from the generated heighmap. I just remove the design map layer and select make design map form HF. Run it through the process 5 times and see what you get. :)

This one was ran through 4 times I think maybe it was 5 pass
