Control over tool power.

It doesn't hurt to ask...

Control over tool power.

Postby Nagual » Sun Jul 22, 2012 2:42 pm

Hi,

I'm very new to L3DT so I may be missing something obvious, however when using tools like Perlin noise or even Smooth, it seems there is only on or off functionality. It would be quite handy to alter how much the tool affects the land in one fashion or another, giving greater control to the design process.

Hi Nagual,

No, you haven't missed anything. The heightfield tool interface in L3DT indeed does not have a way to set tool strength, and I agree that it should. A revamp of the tool interface is underway (no ETA yet), and I will be sure to include a settable tool strength in the new interface.

Best regards,
Aaron.

Would this also include feathering on the tools?

Hi Nagual,

I apologise for the delay. I've added strength parameters to most tools in Sapphire in the latest developmental build of L3DT Pro (v13.08.0.0, 28th of Aug, on the Pro downloads page now).

Feathering is not yet an option.

Best regards,
Aaron.
