Resume render

Postby metalliandy » Sat Jun 23, 2007 9:13 pm

Hey Aaron,
I would be great if you could implement a "resume render" option in L3DT so that large maps could be resumed after a crash or similar.

Maybe a function that saved progress or the map after rendering each block of the current Heightfield/Texture etc.

Then the user could just reload the map and L3DT would analyse the files in the saved folder and finish of the current unfinished Heightfield/Texture etc.

I know you are in the process of sorting out a save/undo function..Would this be hard to implement?
Do you have plans for such a feature?

This could save people days of lost work.

Im currently in the process of rendering a 4Gpx heightfield....and im a little nervous...lol

Thanks for looking :)

Hi Metalliandy,

Yes, this is definitely on the dev plan. I'm currently practicing on the 'undo' feature, and once that's usable I'll move on to crash-restore and pause/resume options.

Cheers,
Aaron.
