Auto Compile & MORE!

Postby Calsa » Mon Mar 20, 2006 10:00 am

Few things:
It would be nice to set all the compile options at once for every stage of compiling (toggle each stage automatically on and off) so you dont have to babysit the program on super large terrains as that leaves considerable downtime in between stages of compiling terrains. Basically you would set up all your terrain compile options for any / all the remaining stages that you want to, click one execute button and it would auto execute through each stage with the settings you specified without needing user input in between.

It would be neat to be able to draw features on a terrain such as rivers and canyons using points you placed on the terrain and have the engine take care of plotting the river/canyons loosely based on the points you laid down and automatically draw those features in and take care of the appropriate erosion, and height adjustments.

Hi Calsa,

Some good suggestions there. The automation stuff is already planned (and half-implemented) in L3DT 2.4.

Yeah, this is on the to-do list somewhere too. Much easier said than done, unfortunately, but nonetheless it would be a very nice feature. I don't know when I'll get to implementing it.

Cheers.
