The Village of Hommlet (Greyhawk)

I'm playing through some classic D&D Greyhawk material (using the Earthdawn system). My players right now are making friends (and enemies) in the village of Hommlet, and I wanted a map that I could show the players (and use with a Virtual Tabletop in case any skirmished happen in the village).

L3DT was mainly used to "inflate" a low-res version of the heightmap into a high-res detailed version (about 0.2m/px, in the final form), from which I pulled the Lighting and Shadow information to lay over my textures. Features like the roads, river, and building footprints were edited into the heighfield after the DM->HF generation. Then, trees and dropshadows were panted in.

Done with the next stage of this map. It took a while to get all the data to fit on the map....

I also had to figure out how to deliver the full resolution maps... I am considering releasing the VUE maps (with the meta-data) and the google Spreadsheet I used to create them. Still working on that part, considering sublocation maps (and considering mapping the dungeoon/Moathouse).

See my Google+ post (public post) if you can't see the preview images.
