Video capture

Postby Aaron » Fri Feb 20, 2009 10:59 am

Hi All,

If you're interested in capturing video of your terrain, you may like to read this recent blog post, in which I demonstrate a 360-degree panorama video captured in Sapphire. A tutorial on the subject is available here.

Cheerio,
Aaron.

PS: At the time of writing, you will need L3DT release 2.7 Standard Edition to record AVIs, which you can download from here. The Professional and Pro for Torque editions are coming soon.

Hi Everyone,

I've updated the video tutorial to write compressed video streams, so the output files should now be a few megabytes, rather than a few hundred MB. To do this I've replaced the L3DTio_AVI plugin with the newer L3DTio_VFW plugin, which uses the venerable Microsoft 'Video for Windows' API to compress the video stream.

Happy recording.

Cheerio,
Aaron.
