It doesn't hurt to ask...

exporting texure coordinates uv maps for obj

Like the title says, The textures are planar mapped already aren't they, will .mtl files be that hard to to implement. That will be very helpful for people who use the exported meshes

Hi Macbeth,

I'm not very familiar with the MTL file format or it's uses. However, if it's not too complex, I'll be happy to bash a plugin together. Can you perchance send me an example file? (to aaron.torpy@yahoo.com, please.)

Best regards,
Aaron.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the links. It looks trivially-easy to write the MTL files (they're ~6 lines!), but the MTL export plugin will also need to have a user-interface to pick the ambient/specular/diffuse colours, and the OBJ plugin will need to be modified to include texture/bump-map coordinates for each vertex, and to include a reference to the MTL file. I've put this on the plugin requests page, and I'll get to it when I can (unless someone beats me to it...anyone?)

Best regards,
Aaron.

Hi Guys,

If you didn't catch the earlier announcement, the OBJ file now includes texture coordinates and exports MTL files. Please see this thread for more info.

Cheerio,
Aaron.
