Thanks Prophet,

...and welcome to all BF2 modellers.

The server seems to be holding up OK, and I've only got 5 registration requests to process this morning (I really must automate that).

Cheers,
Aaron.

Hi RDRDreg,

Sorry, we don't have any BF2 tutorials here yet, but I'm happy to set up a wiki-page for anyone willing to add one (anyone? anyone?).

As for spikes in the RAW map, that sounds like the bit-depth is wrong. Do you know if BF2 uses 8/16/32-bit RAW files? If you'd like to experiment, hit the 'Options...' button when exporting the RAW (see here). This opens a dialog in which you can edit the RAW data mode (there are five, at the moment).

Regards,
Aaron.

It uses 16 bit heightmaps and thanks for the update aaron. Also I have one wish on the alpha or detail map. There is no resize on export. BF2 uses the same size as their color maps. So on a 1024 x 1024 map size in BF2 the color map is 4096x4096. So if you can allow a resize on export or saving of alpha map this would be the greatest product ever....

Hi Prophet,

Resizing alpha maps is currently on the 'wish list'. It might make it into v2.4 if everything else goes well, but v2.4a is a better bet. I'll give an ETA when I know myself.

Cheers,
Aaron.
