Designing selected map areas

Postby therrywan » Tue Jun 16, 2009 4:06 pm

Hi all,
Is there a way to have L3DT not generate a loss of altitude at the foot of mountains? I understand that version .9 will have a "Marching Ants" tool that will allow the modifying of specific areas of the design map / height map. Since I know not when version .9 will be available, I must try another way.
Thanks

Hi Therrywan,

Can you please post a screenshot or two of the "loss of altitude at the foot of mountains"? Such images may help us in understanding exactly what the problem is. Also, can you send your design map file ([your project name].dmf) to aaron@bundysoft.com so that I may test the map myself?

Best regards,
Aaron.

DESIGNING SELECTED MAP AREAS

Postby therrywan » Wed Jun 17, 2009 3:10 pm

I solved the problem by using the clipping heightfield tool. I set the top box to 50 and the bottom box to 0. Now all altitudes that are 50m or less will be flatten to 0m. My mountains now have the desired cliff effects. However, I still need to modify selected area of the terrain

Aaron, you are a genius!
