Maps that fit together

Postby therrywan » Sun Aug 02, 2009 4:08 pm

Aaron.
My game has twenty seven planets, each planet has 9 maps that must fit together. I think the best way to do this is to create the design maps to fit.
However, redrawing all nine maps to fit one another is quite a chore.
In L3DT, is it possible to flip the entire design map either vertically or horizontally?

Hi Therry,

In L3DT, is it possible to flip the entire design map either vertically or horizontally?

Yes. If you're using the latest developmental builds, the mirroring options are in the menu under 'Active map->Mirror'.

If you're using the release version or older dev builds, the mirroring options are in the menu under 'Extensions->atRotate'

Best regards,
Aaron.

Aaron,
Is it possible to load two maps side by side and have me choose which of the two maps are active?

Hi Therry,

Yes, I think so. The trick is to use the 'Import custom map layer' feature. Thereafter you can switch between the imported map layer and your other map layers using the tab buttons at the top of the window, or the 'Show map' toolbar button.

Best regards,
Aaron.
