Hi Pez_man,
I'm happy for you to use sandbox2, but... Without greater interest from the community, I don't think they're will be a monthly/bi-monthly/etc competition. Thus, discussing the rules is somewhat academic. That said, we will be running an 'image of the year' competition again this year, starting some time in December. Cheerio, Aaron.
Ah yes, that is rather unfortunate, but why do you think there will be a greater interest in December than there is now.
The problem here isn't the lack of user interest, but rather the lack of advertisement for the L3DT program. The pessimist looks upon a glass half empty, the optimist looks upon a glass half full, but I... I look upon the reflection in the glass and wonder about how many years I have yet to live - unknown
hmmmm ya L3DT could use some major advertisement like Terragen cuz its such an amazing program. perhaps the problem is that no one has a game engine so they cant enter?

Here is my first published use of L3DT: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NW ... ail&id=406
I used L3DT to make the height and texture maps to be imported into the NWN2 toolset via YATT. The result is a collection of 20 unrelated 480x480 meter naked maps waiting to be populated with creatures and placables. All of it was done by futzing with the L3DT settings and just churning through maps until I got a variety of keepers. I have some 2x2 and 3x3 grids of 480x480 meter L3DT maps waiting for import into NWN2. Beware, I am not an artist. My purpose was to make a foundation on which more talented area artists could build something that players would have some room to move in, not to pull out all the stops and make nice art to look at.
