Hi Nod114,

First upload the image to Image Shack, then in your forum post, paste the image URL between IMG tags, like so:

Code: Select all

Cheers,
Aaron.

Hi Nod114,

It doesn't look like you've generated the terrain texture map, so Sapphire is just showing the terrain with basic lighting. If you're not sure how to generate the texture map, I recommend you try the 'Help->Walk through guide' menu option in L3DT, which will walk you through the whole process of building a map and texture. Otherwise, I recommend you look at the second half of the fjord tutorial in the wiki.

Best regards,
Aaron.

PS: Please don't post the same question in more than one thread. I've deleted the other thread accordingly.

Hi Nod114,

Can you please post a screen capture of the texture map layer in the L3DT main window? To do this, select the 'View->Show map layer' menu option, choose 'texture map' from the list, then select 'Edit->Screen capture->To file'.

Best regards,
Aaron.

Hi Nod114,

Thanks for the screen capture.

Clearly your texture image is OK. However, looking again at the first image from Sapphire, it seems that both the terrain texture and the water texture are rendering incorrectly. This makes me suspect that OpenGL is not rendering textures properly on your system. Have you updated your graphics drivers lately?

Also, can you post another image from the 3D renderer showing the clouds on the skybox? To enable the skybox, select the 'skybox' toolbar button. This is just to test whether the skybox texture images also render incorrectly.

Best regards,
Aaron.

my graphics card is pretty new i have only had it for about 8 mounths and i have already tried to sky box and it to comes out strange. I can pry look at my graphics card settings and see if i have to change anything tho
i will post another pic with the sky box a bit later cause im not at my home computer :D
could the problem be the trial version i downloaded ? it night of not downloaded properly?

before i make another post ill check my graphics card because i think i have my settings on moderate for rendering capabilities i'll set it on high and try that :D

Hi Nod114,

I doubt there are any problems with your L3DT installation here. The installer has an integrity check, so it's very unlikely that anything was corrupted during download.

If the skybox also comes out weird, that confirms that OpenGL is not rendering textures properly on your system. The most probable cause is faulty drivers.

If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, you can download the latest drivers from:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

If you have an AMD/ATI card, you can get the drivers from:

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

If your card is from another vendor, you'll be able to download the latest drivers from their website.

Best regards,
Aaron.
