Blended map import into Atlas2

Postby Xealous » Sat Nov 25, 2006 7:42 pm

Hi All,

I'm trying to follow the Atlas2 import wiki article here - http://tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/TSE/Atlas/Using_Atlas2

I'm following the instructions for importing using commands in main.cs, because the GUI is out of date for Atlas2.

I'm having trouble finding the tiled opacity map referenced in the comment here.

// Import a tiled opacity map we generated with L3DT. Note we save it in PNG format to prevent artifacts in the blend results.
atlasGenerateTextureTOCFromTiles(4, "terrain_water_demo/l3dt/alpha_Alpha1/Alpha1_x%dy%d", "terrain_water_demo/arcticOpacityTex.atlas", 1);

How do I export the tiled opacity map or generate it?

Thanks,
X~

Hi Xealous,

That guide appears to refer to what we call the 'alpha maps', which can be generated using the 'operations->alpha maps->generate alpha maps' menu option, the tutorial for which is located here.

Cheers,
Aaron.

PS: Be sure to enable the 'split alpha images into tiles' option in the second pane of the alpha wizard.
