Hi Leon,

Mipmap generation can't be disabled. Mipmaps are required to view the map in the main window or to render the map in Sapphire. If mipmaps weren't pre-calculated (as they currently are), then they would have to be generated on-the-fly during rendering each frame, which would slow the frame rate down by a massive factor.

Is there a problem with the mipmaps or the generation thereof?

Best regards,
Aaron.

Thx.
No, not problems.
Disabling need only for safe time on many operation, example - tune Climate. I modify climate about 30+ iterations, and after any Attribute calculation (for checking result) i see what i want on main screen, and Mip-Map calculating only dissipation time.

Hi Leon,

I thought this might be a time issue. The truth is that disabling mipmapping wouldn't save you time, because the time taken to display the map in the main window without using mipmaps would grow by about the same amount taken to generate the mipmaps. It's a zero-sum game (approximately).

For climate tuning I recommend using a smaller map. Even using the 1/4 resolution heightfield generated by the 'heightfield preview' feature would save a lot of time when tuning climates.

Cheers,
Aaron.
