Hi there,
I am just testing out the trial version.
I am very happy about the designmap feature! Nice thing!
Normaly everything works good. I tested a few small designmaps and everyhting worked.
But for the project I am working on I need a BIG Map in the end (spanning a real distance off 3600 kilometers).
So I used the mosaic feature and so on.
After I edited the design map as I need to I start to calculate the heigtmap.
Well... it doesn't end. I was looking forward to a ling calculating time. But yesterday I started the calculation at 16 and after 2 in the morning nothing had changed. L3DT ist caculating the normal erosion and after that the thermal one.
When making the thermal erosion I get the message "CMWrap::SetPicel error: - invalig coordinates" like a thousand times. After that it makes the normal erosion again. This seems to continue forever.
Perhaps I don't have enough confidence to let it run for more than 10 hours but I think this has to be some sort of real error.
What am I making wrong?

Hi Shadom,
This definitely sounds like a nasty bug. Can you please send me the logfile? (to aaron@bundysoft.com). You can find the logfile (called 'log.txt') from the start menu under:
- Code: Select all
Start\All programs\Bundysoft\L3DT [version]\L3DT logs
With this file, I should be able to work out what is going wrong. Thanks for reporting this bug.
Best regards,
Aaron.

Hi Shadom,
Hmmm...the logfile didn't include quite enough information for me to reproduce this bug. Can you please also send me your project definition file (called 'YourProjectName.def.xml'), to aaron@bundysoft.com. I apologise for the delay in resolving this bug, and thank you for your patience.
Best regards,
Aaron.

Hi Shadom,
Thank you for the definition file; with it I've now reproduced the buggy behaviour. I'll post back here when I've fixed the bug and uploaded the update.
Best regards,
Aaron.

Hi Shadom,
I think the problem was in the code that updated the progress display for the thermal erosion algorithm. I've got L3DT to successfully run the first thermal erosion pass on your map, but I'll wait for it to finish the whole map-building process before I declare the bug dead. This may take a while, however, as it's a big map. I'll let you know when the update is available for download.
Cheerio,
Aaron.

Hi Shadom,
I have included the fix in L3DT v2.7 build 6, which is now available from the downloads page (please consult your sales/reg e-mail for URL). Thank you again for reporting this bug, for sending the logfiles, and for your patience when waiting for the fix. Please let me know if you find any further problems.
Best regards,
Aaron.
