brush falloff and 'island' mode

It doesn't hurt to ask...

brush falloff and 'island' mode

Postby fusi » Mon Sep 15, 2008 10:52 pm

Hi Aaron

i have a few feature requests that would make my life with l3dt easier:

1. DM brush falloff - brush altitude/erosion/etc falloff the further from the centre of the brush all the way to zero, so you can paint on the terrain without abrupt changes in height/etc - a bit like the pinch tool in sapphire?

2. island mode! this would be great, as the sea is a natural world/cognitive barrier in-game - so i dunno - have a falloff towards the edges of the maps to some 'sea floor' height - that would be cool

im guessing these things could probably be implemented via the plugin system - ill have to have a proper look at that :)

cheers

1. It is fine (but will have a problem in future, i think). You can make it now ;) just use round brush with size 2 or more and make value of erosion as "relative" and paint, paint, paint with offset brush :)

2. Huh ? Why you cant make island ???

That sounds like a task for a plugin. Anyone, anyone?

Cheerio,
