Some new )Good day!
On exporting Alpha layers - files are naming as: X_AlphaY.ext, where "Y" - is 1 or 2 digit suffix. On name sorting, this method get some chaos. Example: X_Alpha1.bmp X_Alpha10.bmp <-- oops X_Alpha11.bmp <-- oops X_Alpha2.bmp X_Alpha3.bmp X_Alpha4.bmp X_Alpha5.bmp X_Alpha6.bmp X_Alpha7.bmp X_Alpha8.bmp X_Alpha9.bmp As You know - many programs with function "GetFiles" or similar - search files in folder and put to input array with Name sorting. In this case it get some potential errors. But! If suffix will have only 2 digit index (not 1 and 2) - this errors will die Example: X_Alpha01.bmp X_Alpha02.bmp X_Alpha03.bmp X_Alpha04.bmp X_Alpha05.bmp X_Alpha06.bmp X_Alpha07.bmp X_Alpha08.bmp X_Alpha09.bmp X_Alpha10.bmp X_Alpha11.bmp What you say ? -= I am from Russia, sorry for bad English =-
Hi Leon,
It's late, but hopefully better than never. The latest developmental build of L3DT Pro* supports ordinal padding for the Alpha maps, as requested. After you install the developmental build, you must enable the ordinal padding option by downloading this patch text file (right-click and choose 'save as'), and then doing a drag-and-drop of the patch file onto L3DT's desktop icon. This patch file ensures that the number written is at least two digits long. If you would like to change the number of digits, either edit and re-apply the patch file, or use the 'Settings->Local settings' menu option, and edit the 'Calc->GenAlphaMaps->OrdinalPadding' setting. Best regards, Aaron. * that's L3DT v2.6d build 12, dated 16th of July 2008.
Hi Everyone,
If you use the aforementioned ordinal padding option with the alpha map generator and then try to export a blended texture Atlas file for TGEA, you will get an error message like "The alpha map not initialised'*. The solution is to disable ordinal padding and re-generate the alpha maps. Note this only applies to users who intend to export blended Atlas terrain and have previously enabled ordinal padding. Cheerio, Aaron. * I apologise for the poor grammar in the error message. I'll fix that shortly.
