Large 3D terrain generator

Average altitude (DM parameter)

The 'average altitude' slider in the design map parameters wizard determines the average height of the terrain, and consequently the fraction of land above sea-level.

This is demonstrated below, where where I've made terrain with average altitude settings from 0% up to 100%:

Average altitude Design map Heightfield/Water map 3D render
0% (left, sea) averagealt_0_hf.jpg averagealt_0_3d.jpg
25% averagealt_25_hf.jpg averagealt_25_3d.jpg
50% (center) averagealt_50_hf.jpg averagealt_50_3d.jpg
75% (default) averagealt_75_hf.jpg averagealt_75_3d.jpg
100% (right, land) averagealt_100_hf.jpg averagealt_100_3d.jpg
