Progress on 2.2a

Release 2.2a is very nearly ready (barring some catastrophe). Aside from a few 'nice-to-haves', 2.2a will add a 'cancel' button to most progress dialogs. To do this, I've had to create a worker thread to run the calculations, thereby freeing-up the main application thread so that it may respond to windows messages (ie 'cancel').

It all seems to work OK, but I want to spend a bit more time on the validation and debugging stage, as poorly threaded applications are really bad news.

Deleting water bodies

I've added a mouse tool for deleting water bodies. This feature will be available in L3DT release 2.2a.

I'm not willing to give an ETA for release 2.2a, as my first estimate for the 2.2 release date missed the mark by around seven months. Release 2.2a shouldn't take that long, but I don't believe in a deterministic universe - anything could happen in the mean-time.

OK, maybe not a violation of the 1st law of thermodynamics…but almost anything.

De-hrumphing complete

The site now looks pretty much the same in IE and Firefox, as one would hope.

Hrumph!

I only just noticed that this website looks dodgy when viewed in MSIE (menus and tables, particularly). I'll tidy up the style sheet shortly, for the benefit of those of you who have not yet made the switch.

Moving right along…

Regarding the progress of L3DT, release 2.2a will be available once I've finished the implementation of the worker threads for long calculations. The to-do page has been updated to better reflect the current priorities.
