Sixty four bits of goodness

Hi Everyone,

It looks like L3DT release 3.0 will include a 64-bit version, at least for the Professional edition. This very evening the first developmental build of 64-bit L3DT Pro was compiled and run, with no obvious problems. As if no further proof is required, here is the 'about' dialog box:

There are still some hurdles to clear before the 64-bit builds will be publicly available; namely all plugins must be re-compiled for the AMD64 architecture, and every feature must be tested to ensure there are no ill side-effects.

I shall keep you informed as to the progress on this endeavour.

Development continues...

Hi Everyone,

This is just a short note to reassure users that development of L3DT version 3.0 is continuing apace. I've spent the last two months or so revamping the plugin API, and have now finished re-compiling all my plugins, and am nearly finished updating all scripts. In the next few weeks I expect to have a developmental build available of of L3DT running the new plugin API, and I will have more to say on those developments at that time. For now, however, I must get back to testing.
